Ghana announces ban on raw mineral exports by 2030

Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has declared that Africa’s largest gold producer will implement a complete, phased ban on the export of unprocessed mineral ores by 2030 to mandate domestic refining and industrialization.

Part of the broader "Accra Reset" economic agenda, the policy aims to end decades of raw material exploitation in favor of local value creation and industrial employment.
