The Democratic Republic of Congo has launched an airborne geophysical survey deploying eight specialized aircraft across 700,000 square kilometers to map previously unexplored critical mineral reserves.
Executed in partnership with geoscience firm Xcalibur Smart Mapping, the three-year survey focuses on high-potential regions including Kasai, Kwango, Kongo Central, and Katanga. By generating high-resolution magnetic and radiometric data, Kinshasa aims to lower exploration risks for international mining companies and attract private capital into copper, cobalt, lithium, and rare earth deposits.
